Aaannnd the party is on!! This is Curios' Neverland, MCZ's Halloween 2022 Special Issue. We hope you have fun reading it! This is entirely family-friendly (because, Curios cannot handle anything creepier than rat kings either), so no worries about reading this late at midnight. Who knows, if you do, Curios' spirit will visit you... (please call an exorcist to return Curios to his original home if this does happen, if not MCZ will collapse).
Big thanks to Sophia for creating the art, our staff writers, Angie and Sharon, for writing additional pieces, and lastly to all our contributors! Curios also deserves many more treats for editing and keeping this zine on its two (or four, hehe) feet. This time, the link to the pdf for download will be slightly different, because our awesomeness is too much for this poor website to handle.

by Claire Kroening It’s daybreak As fog clouded over my window screen I thought of taking the next flight out west To see your smile I thought about heading to the waves Collections of glass-painted shells by the sand I wish I were there Because my heart throbs of reaching you It feels like blackberry vines kneading us apart Leaving inked pens over scribbled pages It’s daybreak And I want to make you laugh To clear away the late-summer depression For a single moment Claire Kroening is a Non-binary poet from Wisconsin. When they aren't writing, they are studying art history, reading the latest dark fantasy books, and travelling.
by Claire Kroening Close your eyes and clasp on tight Little sunbeams bursting Just believe in who you are Alone among a sea splattered of stars Trust in how your feelings weave Free without sleepless nights With you, I can never tell Meet me in aster seas Mend me in, reveal what’s real Tracing the palm of my hands A secure place to stand Watch the stardust in your eyes Technicolor shades citrus bright Claire Kroening is a Non-binary poet from Wisconsin.
